So I want to make a calculator that can determine what sign is used like +, -, x ,/.

for simple calculator ,i think the simple way is using "switch" statement

intialise a charecter/string variable and ask the user what operator/operation he wants to perform and then use if statements
ex: char ch;
cout<<"enter symbol of opereator"<<endl;
cin>>ch;
if(ch==*)
{
int a,b;
cout<<"enter a, b values"<<endl;
cin>>a>>b;
cout<<"multiplication"<<a*b;
}
This method works properly but instead of writing too many if loops its better we use Swith statement
to choose one among the many alternatives...
